Re: Runabout, powered by PWC

Well, if you feel the same way I do about jet skis, I would bet you enjoyed taking a saw to one. Might I suggest taking a hammer to whats left, could be very cathartic.

Re: Plastic tie wraps

When building my canoe, I did NOT round over enough, and it made for some tough glassing. Put a good radius on it.

Re: New designs: pontoon catamarans

Peter, this might help, Where you are located, 100% of your electricity comes from the burning of fossil fuels. So if it is burnt at an electrical plant 100 miles away, or on the back of your boat, it is still being done. (there is some wind production, but it is such a small amount it's not worth t...

Re: New designs: pontoon catamarans

The boat he is going to design is green because it uses less energy to move around, regardless of the energy source. Energy can not be created or destroyed, it can only be transformed, and as of now, MOST of that energy comes from fossil fuels, gasoline for conventional engines, and coal for electri...

Re: New designs: pontoon catamarans

Electric motors only displace the environmental impact: you don't pollute when you use them but the power plants pollutes for you when it produces the electricity. The big advantage is that the motors are quiet. I just wish more people understood this concept. It all comes down to the fact that ele...

Re: New designs: pontoon catamarans

I noticed that, the asymmetrical design struck me right off. It's a great looking boat. Considering the performance you claim, it is a definite contender for me. Those steps were just the best idea though. :D

Re: PC20 Question from Study Plans

How will they turn? I don't expect ski boat performance, but I would hope for less then barge like response also.

Re: New designs: pontoon catamarans

You might not like this, after all the time designing the whole boat, but to me, the coolest design aspect is those steps on the pontoon transoms. Not only functional, but a nice safety feature.

Re: GF 18 mod question

I like Joel's, but wanted a bit less rise in the bow, maybe not as severe as my picture, but less then the standard, without lowering the overall shear too much. I want everything you know, without any sacrifices.

GF 18 mod question

Jacque, Shine, or anyone else who has built one, could the front of the GF18 be modified as shown in the pictures below? I was thinking it would make it easier to mount a trolling motor, and easier to fish the front. http://gallery.bateau2.com/albums/userpics/86708/GF18_cc_350.jpg http://gallery.bat...
