Re: Snookiehunter's gf18 w/ tunnel
Thanks, Tom. One thing that I've been pondering is; my hull has the XF20 tunnel, so my aft bilge area is divided. So I'm guessing that means I'll wind up installing two bilge pumps, that will likely never run, because the sole will be self bailing, and the only part of the hull that will be below th...

Re: Snookiehunter's gf18 w/ tunnel
Ugh! Progress has slowed to a halt! I have been looking for a motor, and researching everything from bilge pumps, to fuel hose, and the more I read, the more questions I have. I feel like I don't know what I'm doing, and I'm in WAY over my head. I found a nice 60 hp Merc ELPT (thanks Gary) and it do...

Re: pigment problem
What is the temperature? My garage has avg about 75 degrees, and last time I mixed pigment, it was so stiff, I could barely scoop it out of the container. It is at least a year old, and I thought it was ruined. I put it in a black plastic cordless drill case, out in the sun for about an hour, let it...

Re: GF16 - February 14, 2015 - Noles 309
We are so lucky to have women that share our love for the water. My wife has never complained, about anything. When she gets tired of fishing, she's just as happy sunning, or reading in the shade, just as long as we are near the water.
Ps. Happy Birthday to Mrs. Noles.

That's right! Yeah, one more "attaboy", Gary. Damn good looking boat. I might add that those spots look really fishy. I like that area down your way.94'325is wrote:Nice job, looks great. I've read through your build and it's helped me out a lot. Now get some blood on those decks!

Re: Craigslist "deals"
I was comparing to Jorge's Xf20, in regards to prop selection with the tunnel. I wish I could find a F70. Or, I had new motor money!
Hey Noles, no worries on the hatch pulls. I won't need them for a few months, I'm sure. And thanks again.

 I'm trying to find a decent used ob for my gf18 w/ tunnel. I have little experience with outboard engines. I'm looking for a Yamaha f-70/60, or a 3 cyl two stroke. I don't have a strong preference between two/ four strokes. They both have their own advantages. That issue has been beaten to dea...

Re: FS18 rub rail choices
Hey, Dougster. Checked out your build, I like it. I didn't see any pics of the Tessilmare end caps. Were you happy with them, or did you do something different? Looks like that rubrail would work well, for just about any of us.

Re: Snookiehunter's gf18 w/ tunnel
Thanks Richard, for the pics! Good looking boat. Is that another gf on the deck?
Will, I checked out the tessilmare, you recommended. Looks good, but I read a lot of complaints about the end caps being cheap looking, in the product reviews. I'd have to see if there are any other options, there.
