Re: Please Clarify Transom Rebuild Tutorial

I have seen some top quality glass men say smallest to largest and they had good reasons for going that way. I have seen others go largest first also with good reasons. The guy I have the most respect for is a largest first guy. So I do not think it matters all that much. We are not trying to get th...

Re: VG23 New Build

It is amazing how the labor hours increase with the size of the build. Time is the one thing most builders underestimate the worst.

Re: Panga 22

I have never been in a panga but those who have built them seem to be happy with them. Do a search for 22 panga and read what they have to say. Welcome to boat building and have fun along the way.

Re: LB26

I used disposable sanding drums with rubber mandrels for fillets for the first pass, then went to hand sanding. There may still be a 45 degree 3/8" variable drill motor on the market. Sioux brand or third party copies. I wore out two, and took a lot of life out of the third one before we launc...

Re: OD16 Two stringer option

I do not have plans for the OD16 so I only can tell you about the OD18. On the 18 there were two stringers. The stringers were made out of 8 foot plywood. To get the needed length two pieces had to be spliced together. The reason it looks like two different stringers is because the splice is offset....

Re: Polyester fabric

I prefer the 2-1 epoxys. They seem to be a little more forgiving of small mixing mistakes. As for brands I have used 5-6 of the big name brands and do not see much difference in them. I would guess over half of the epoxy I have used is the house brand from here. They can ship it to me cheaper than w...
