Re: Jack Plate Compatable?
Shine does it interfere with the performance of the jack? those bolts looks easy enough to remove, that lip looks forged though

Jack Plate Compatable?
I know next to nothing about outboards. This is the motor I'm looking at, and I plan to mount it to a jackplate. Now I can't tell, but this lip on the mount looks like a clamp style mount to me. Will this work with a jackplate? I was under the impression that you need to just through-bolt the motor ...

Re: Rear deck support fs17
Ok cool, glad to hear, i was worried, but i'll make em extra stout! Is there anything wrong with using cypress for structural support? I know its kinda soft, but I have access to a lot of cypress. if not recommended, I'll use laminated ply. I like your chase tubes, very clean Thanks, I have A LOT of...

Those do look great. You did a good job fitting/measuring, I'm afraid mine wouldn't look that nice. Good work!

Rear deck support fs17
I've just glued in the rear sole for the aft deck storage. Now it's time to plan the the rear deck supports. This is Shine's boat, I'm mostly copying a lot of what he's done since it's the only other Low Sheer FS17 I'm aware of. http://gallery.bateau2.com/albums/userpics/12155/normal_FS17_shine_10.2...

Re: Central Florida Phantom 16 Build
How long do you heat it with your heat gun, a couple of minutes?? it really doesn't take long, a couple minutes at most. The conduit will actually start to "burn" on the surface, starts to yellow, and by that time, it's definitely soft enough. I've just experimented with it so far, but I ...

Re: Battery Setup / Placement
I'll check craigslist, good idea. Never used the Great Whites, but I've heard good things. I've had a bunch of Minnkota freshwater motors, I love em. Easy to work on. A couple friends have the Riptides on their boats, so I'll probably give them a try. I live about 1 mile from US 77 in Corpus. Pick m...
