Re: od16 Number 2!

The sole width did cross my mind, but I stuck with 140mm (5 .5 or so") coz it rang a bell from the last build. The plans confused me because the materials info (nestings etc) said 6" but the drawing plans say 140mm deep. Too late now, I'm glueing tomorrow, depending on the size of the hang...

Re: od16 Number 2!

Thanks for the info on the stringers CL, I tried searching the forum coz I remember asking the same question on the last od16 build (about 2006), couldn't find an answer though, so I thought stuff it I will just go with my 140 x 45mm. I was thinking of going with 152mm (6") to get a bit more cl...

Re: OD16 plans stitch and glue only?

Hi Goat Yes, you build the keel box first, that is, sole, hull bottom with 3 stringers and laterals between, then glue in the chine panels. The frames sit on top of the sole. The frames do not extend through the sole to the bottom hull, (although I think that the OD18 is built this way) The boat goe...

Re: User Rankings

Completed OD16 and D5, cut out hull, sides and transoms for GT27 and because I sold my Dory and miss it so much I have bought the plans for a second OD16, stopped working on the GT27 and have started work on a new dory, hopefully ready by summer :D

Re: od16 Number 2!

Yeah, we have the Southern ocean on our backdoor, however there are plenty of rivers and some nice protected bays and inland waters. Most of the time the GT27 will be moored and used as a weekender with the occasional chortle around Princess Royal Harbour. The first Dory was realy light, though buil...
