Re: Every ending is a new beginning...

Take a look at the either of the C17's, they would be the smallest most seaworthy boat for your needs. It can be run with a 50 or 60HP motor so is very economical. Has the forward cabin, livewells/baitwells under the seats or further back.

Re: FS17 build in central Texas

Wade a thought. When you add cup you effectively add pitch. The water pushes on the prop more effectively. You also normally get more rake when you get more cup again making the prop more effiecent. You'll see your rpm's drop at WOT. When you went down an inch in diameter you effectively went down a...

Wade great boat! Like the color.

Joel have you ever looked into TinyTachs. I think they have been brought up before, but are good where you don't want to run a regular tach. http://tinytach.com/tinytach/gasoline.php#

Re: download plans

It is really best to have the paper large format plans. They are shipped around the world without problem. There are two people building boats on Curacao right now both from the plans. They are on opposite sides of the island. The designer has a policy not to e-mail plans. Only missing pages. There ...

Re: PH18 Build in North Dallas

I'm thinking more along the lines of limiting draft while at rest, not while moving across the water. I'm loading up so much hardware on this boat that ever inch I gain back will help. I want to minimize it as much as I possibly can.
Gotcha!

Re: PH18 Build in North Dallas

Casey I'd put the skeg on the PH18 it has very little steering control at high speed and tends to do a lot of sliding in turns. It won't affect your draft as it will still be higher than the motors skeg. But check with some other PH builders to see what they think.

Re: PH18 Build in North Dallas

Casey here is the way I have always kept them seperated. Stem, like a flower stem it is the upright portion of the bow and may have an additional peice of wood to strengthen it. Keel, in a v-hulled boat the lowest angle where the bottom panels come together, in a cat or tri there may be more than on...

Re: Graphite/epoxy and UV resistance

Thanks for your comment on UV resistance. That was exactly the question I was going to ask. Now the second question: How did the graphite epoxy hold up as far as abrasion resistance? I don't remember what kind of boat you have and whether the boat was beached. http://gallery.bateau2.com/albums/user...
