Re: Bad times and hard decisions
Sorry for your loss Larry. I know it's a mixed blessing at the end. Hate to lose her but glad for her relief. Cool deal with those puppies.

Re: GV11 on the water
When you get the fin on the motor it will pull the bow way down and smooth out. It will also turn like it's on rails. The fin makes a humongous difference.

Re: GV11. And so it begins...
Use a transom brace when trailering and you won't hurt the transom.

Re: GV11. And so it begins...
A layer of 6" cloth on the bottom is sufficient. I run a 15 hp 4 storke that's 126# on mine and that's what the designer recommended. Here's how I did my transom knees. Be sure to glass all the intersecting joints. I didn't glass the inner 1x2 at the ends where it meets the sides and the inner ...

Re: Prop suggestions: OB19
Thanks guys. The SCD seems good after a few more times out. It maintains plane slower than the Al, and is slightly better overall. I'm not worried about trying 2 different props. Only way to really know, and I learned a lot in the process. Education rarely comes cheaply. I'll stick the RED on Ebay o...

Re: GV11 on the water
Mine flies with a 15hp, can't imagine a 25. Nice job. Did you install a fin on the outboard? It will run more bow down, getting the VEE cutting the water and be much smoother riding.

Re: Prop suggestions: OB19
Did some running today with the RED. Up to 4000 RPM it's 1 mph faster. After that it's even until 5000 where the SCD gets faster. It seems to cavitate a lot if I put the throttle down hard accelerating from a stop. Also has a strange harmonic hum 4500 to about 5200. It maxes out at 5700 RPM. So afte...

So far, so good. No severe nausea, which was her big fear.

Re: GV11. And so it begins...
It is a big little boat and extremely stable. I'm 225# and can fish from the front deck. It does lift the stern out of the water a little.

Re: OB19 build in Texas - It's never done
I damaged the carpet covered wheel well protector a while ago and made a hasty repair. So hasty it fell completely off at some point. :) So I set out to make a nicer more permanent solution. When I load the boat on the trailer, I back it down so that the top of the fenders are just out of the water....
