A learning sailboat?

Leon: Awesome link. I will study up and then follow Jaques´ advice. I don´t know anyone who sails, so I will try to get invited aboard. I will also get "dummies for Sailing" , if there is such a thing. I like that series for beginning to learn new tricks. Thank you gents.

Thank you for the responses. The Caravelle looks very nice. I like the alternative use with a small motor and bimini to escape the sweltering Texas sun. This would be very good for fishing. Could you recommend a good book that would help a beginner to learn the basics of sailing, especially related ...

Tools suggestions

The circular saw is fine for the curves on the Canoe. I used a 7" circular saw, and didn´t worry about blade depth. The curves are very gentle.

Just keep in mind that it is a flat bottom boat, and the ride up front will be much rougher than towards the rear.

Latex Paint Removal

Since my canoe was a trial boat for learning, I tried latex and learned I don´t like it. The outside is completely painted. The interior is primed on the bottom only. Any suggestions about the best/easiest way to remove it. I´m not sure if I can use laquer thinner over the epoxy. Sanding it is an op...
