Re: knottyBuoyz III The TW28 Project
My right hand started to tingle and go numb about 15 years ago. I tried the splints but they didn't help much. I finally had it fixed about 12 years ago and at that time I think they used an axe to open it up. It took a bit to heal but is as good as new today. About 6 years ago I had the left...

Re: v12 mast
If you have a "real "lumber yard near you, they will mill what you need for a very reasonable fee when you buy the wood from them.

Re: paint problems, what do I do next?
Those lumps look like bits of unmixed pigment from the can. If the paint has been on the shelf for too long, the pigment gets hard on the bottom of the can and may not remix with the binder. Did you notice a crust on the bottom of the can ? Sometimes ten minutes on a paint shaker will remix it but i...

I'm curious. Is the jet ski hull polyester resin /fiberglass or SMC? Really cool boat.

Re: Ethanol blended fuels
Paul, I think you hit the nail square on the head. I keep spare gas and have 2 boats and an RV that sit for several months each winter and never have a fuel related problem. I do use Seafoam and Stabil in the small motors for a little insurance but don't really know if it helps or not. I have had to...

Re: painting the cowl on my old engine.
It costs nothing to find out the actual cost. Call around. My brother-in-law in washington state has used it on his H.D. with excellent results. I'm just presenting an option. Two cans of color and 2 or3 cans of clear at 7 bucks each is pretty cheap for the Moeller. Finish sand the primer with 600 g...

Re: painting the cowl on my old engine.
I did a quick search on Moeller paint and discovered that it is acrylic lacquer. AT 7 bucks a can, its pretty cheap and there is a clear coat available . Here is what I know about this type of paint. We mostly spot repaired cars with it in the late 60's and early 70's. It doesn't bond very well, its...

Re: painting the cowl on my old engine.
It sounds like you got it handled. You might check with a local auto supply store or two as some of them can mix automotive base coat and a catalyzed clear coat to be applied with a spray can. This system would look way better and last way longer than ordinary rattle can paint.

Re: Fairing xf20 flat bottom
Fairing the bottom of an XF20 is kind of like buying a gallon of Bondo and fairing the street in front of your house. :help:   I way overdid mine. Less would be better. I think the main concerns should be :square chines and a smooth flow of water to the tunnel. Spend some of the leftover t...
