Re: More V - C-series

CS23 or Abaco 23? I think the only boat here that will meet your requirements is the Carolina Sportsfish in either 23' or 25'. A wave breaker on it would make it even more seaworthy! The Abaco 23 hull is actually very similar in specs to how my boat (modified Mangusta 20) turned out, and as you can...

Re: More V - C-series

Much also depends on the prevailing sea conditions! My boat, with its hull shape and 18 degrees of dead-rise at the transom does not slam, even in the worst conditions we have encountered. What is does have a tendency to do, even though its 22' long and with the nose trimmed up as much as possible, ...

Re: BarraMan's Mangusta 21 barraboat in Townsville, AUS

Good question! :D Under the rear casting deck I have: Three batteries (Start and 2 x house) Three pumps (for the 2 livewells plus 1x aerator Three chargers (AC mains to 12v DC, 12v DC to 12v DC, 12v DC to 32v DC) Four master switched Two sea cocks Its a bi...

Re: More V - C-series

The compromise for more deadrise is a boat that rocks like crazy adrift or abeam; so deep deadrise is not always desirable for all boats. What is considered to be "deep deadrise"? My boat has 18 degrees of DR at the transom, which I consider to be moderate V. It definately DOES NOT "...

Re: BarraMan's Mangusta 21 barraboat in Townsville, AUS

I've finished the repair to the keel rub. :D Will see how the Keel Guard fairs on my roller trailer! It is straight although it doesn't appear to be in the pic - just the angle! https://www.community.boatbuildercentral.com/gallery/albums/userpics/87193/Keel_guard.jpg Seven years of accumulated...

Re: Anyone Fishing?

2023 has NOT been a good fishing year for me, in fact, I haven't had the boat in the water since last year's fishing trip in November 2022. Lots of things have gotten in the way! Floods, urban terrorists, :help: prospective grand children, life etc! 8O Just the way it is! So I am now in the pr...

Re: Time To Repaint My XF20 Any Suggestions?

OK, first hand experience! I rolled and tipped International Perfection 2-pack polyurethane undercoat and topcoat onto my boat seven (7) years ago and it still looks as new in spite of lots of use in some pretty demanding environments. I expect you budget could be a bit tight to do likewise. I...

Re: Pedro's PG20

As Pedro found Jacques recommended kerfing the forward bow section of the PG20 as it is difficult to get the panels to lay down clean for fairing. Barraman the curve of the PG20 at the bow causes excess pull on the panel making it difficult to join them, thus the need for kerfing. Tomb Maybe, but l...

I can’t see any reason to kerf the panels!
