Re: Don's PH 18 w/tunnel
Question: did you find the direction of the strands in the cloth went all funky when you rolled the cloth back upo and then applied it back down on the resin or did you manage to guide it from at to fore?

Re: Central Florida Phantom 16 Build
Very cool, your posts/replies answered several of my questions around fuel tank under sole....although I am just finishing up the layup for bulkheads... Just to clarify that, my plan is different than most. I am opting for the foam core version with nidacore for flat sections, and a bass boat cockpi...

Re: Mark's PH18 in Toronto
http://gallery.bateau2.com/displayimage.php?pos=-33399 Here is a link to a .pdf that shows all kinds of detail (likely too much) that may help with weight distribution answers....the deck looks particularly cluttered as it has hatch drains, lids, etc. all drawn in (will come in handy shortly when I ...

Re: Mark's PH18 in Toronto
Say, how does one determine the weight distribution? This is going to be a bassboat with a jack plate. As someone pointed out earlier, I'll need to offset effects of the jackplate, what about trolling motor batteries? These are the major differences. The trolling motor itself is at the front and bod...

Re: PH18

I am just laying up flat panels for future bulkheads etc. right now then starting a mold for the deck so I have the drain channels and hatches already done. I'll post pictures once ther is something to show.... what did you decide regarding s...

Re: Jackplate selection
Thanks guys. PH18, 364 pound evinrude 115.
What is the downside of the plate? What if you are further back then you need to go? Just center of gravity issues or does the handling get funky ?

Jackplate selection
I did a search on this topic and no results so......
What are the pros/cons/effects of more/less offset in jackplates? What happens when you go from 4 - 6 - 8 - 10" ? I know the center of gravity would move back as you extended the offset, what would that do?

Re: Mark's PH18 in Toronto
Guys, I saw mention somewhere of the diminished need for spashwell with the use of jackplates. I see some that have eliminated the well altogether like Bassmun's. What is the cost/risk of this? I was planning on making my mold to come out similiar to his.
