Re: Texas LB22

Really nice looking boat Doug. Push up those forward bunks so that the hull contacts all the way back and it should ride like a champ. Looks like the balance on the wheels may be fairly close also. Good choice on the ladder. You will find that you do not have to be 64 to have trouble getting into a ...

Re: Prop Question for P19

That is a lot of pitch Joe. I run a 13.5 x 15 on my 90hp E-tec and it is just about right. With a light load I top out at about 36 mph at 5400 rpms, which implies a tolerable prop slip of about 10%. Optimum cruise is about 26-27 mph with the rpms in the mid 4000's. With an 18 you would top 40 mph, a...

Re: Texas LB22

Nice to see how good the boat is turning out after helping to flip it some time ago. You may know this already, but every part on that particular trailer is supplied by Trailer Parts Superstore on the east coast, should you need some spares. The new bunks should work fine. These hulls are so stiff t...

Re: Joe's P19

Joe, I haven't been around for awhile and missed all the good things you are doing with that boat. Despite comments to the contrary, that seat will keep you nicely in place while you are bouncing over the waves. It happens to be a close cousin to the one I use. Besides, the cost is great. Let me com...

Re: Outboard motors for Abaco 23

I sure hope you have a good friend with a movie camera so we can see what the boat looks like heading into 6-8' surf. I don't know what the rest of the forum does, but that is when I prefer to ride my lawn chair with a cool adult beverage.

Well, don't drink all the Blanco brew. The Ms and I will be down along with a couple of friends.

Sounds like a party that can't be missed. I'll see if I can talk my SWMBO into a little drive next Saturday.

Re: Marine Fuel tanks

I used two Moeller tanks in my P19 and messed around a lot with the expansion issue. I ended up with foam in the corners, which seemed to work, but is getting very ugly after a few years in the bilge. A much better method, that came up somewhere in this forum, was to put a flat bottom under the tank...

Re: P19 rolled in Austin

Welcome to the world of plastic cups and sandpaper. I have been running the P19 for five summers now. I am very happy with the boat with one exception, the ride is very hard in any decent chop. Nonetheless, it is a brick solid design and always gets me there, high and dry. I do not consider my P19 t...
