Been following this thread trying to learn. Big knock on the 4 strokes is weight right? Are there any more knocks? All I've owned is an ancient Sears 15 two stroke beast that left me feeling like Job and a Johnson 90 that ran smooth as silk, but not quiet. Personally, if the boat can handle the weig...

Yeah photos, especially for the imagery impaired amatuer like me. And maybe I'm too literal but I don't get the XX" diameter reports. How does a circular hole work over a flat sole? Shouldn't it be a half circle or better yet oval? But then plugs to fit a half oval? Old Dougster's running back ...

DHS clamp :D I also notice SHS clamps for the sole (some heavy stuff). I'm interested in your trailor: how long were those bunks, and why their size? Will your trailor with boat on now fit in the garage and close the door, or is the tongue too long? Regarding your 8 hour work day on the boat schedul...

Well how'd the first gander go? I remember feeling quite overwhelmed. I saw another of your threads asking about plywood in Tx. I got mine in Houston. Not cheap, but PM me if you want for details.

You're sure right about that good looking caboose :) Don't let the wife catch you looking. How'd you clamp the mahogany sole clamps against the hull? No doubt some new brilliant kind of Passant Clamp. I'm envious of your stage of the build. You did earn it with all the fairing of course. I've got a ...

Yeah, it's sure not a cheap hobby, this boat thing. $58 for a gallon of marinepoxy and then $32 for the hardener. So that's $90 for 1.5 gallons. I do believe the consensus is that Bateau is competitive with others, and of course available for support. Also they are extremely helpful in advising you ...

Well I was wondering about the sole---you gonna glass yours Eric? Seems right. Also the true transom, both sides? Did you glass all the way up to the sheer inside or just past the chine like the laminating schedule. And thanks for the quick response Joel.

Order Glass

Hey I want a little more fiberglass for the inside of Nina (LB22) once she's flipped. As I read the lamination schedule, I only need glass up to 6" above the chine. I just went to order but got confused on what type of glass. Biaxial I know, but there are several kinds (45/45; 0/90; 12oz, 17oz,...

Sounds like a great choice to me. I've admired that one myself and look forward to following your build. I'm nearby (Blanco) and may be able to provide a little support. The only advice I can think of for now is (and note I'm a beginner) is to focus really hard on a good strongback/building jig. Eve...

Wow! Inspiring Eric. The trailor looks simple and effective, which I've been wondering about. You have answered my question about the second roll, which has been will I need interior bracing? (yes). Right now the keel is finished and I'm ready for the first flip. I'm nervous so put in three 2" ...
