Yeah, I was timid with the saw and feel secure with the plane. But Jeez. Any way it's looking "good 'nuff" now. I want to round the edges of the keel's bottom just a bit then I do plan to go the way you mention Huck. Glue first, let it set, then fillet and tape. Think I should glass it com...

I like the idea of not having to paint it. Actually I love that idea. Do it once and leave it thing. The idea of painting the bottom again someday with the boat on the trailer sounds like no fun. That said, I'm reluctant though.. A long weekend at the coast, sitting in the parking lot on a July day,...

Well I been puttering along with the skeg. It needed some scribing to fit the keel line since the bottom panel edges were't quite on the frames. (They were hard to bend into the full camber). Less than 1/2" but I seemed to be chasing my tail for about 4 hours yesterday. Here's some pics. First ...

Hey thanks, I deleted it. Embarassing. Sanding all day would kill me, not just burn me out. I worked about 5 hours tinkering on the skeg today and that's plenty for me. Sanding will be much worse 8O . I'll have to pace myself. When you planning on cutting out the motor well? That'll be a brave day! ...

Oh good grief, sorry Eric. I meant to post on my build thread and when I saw LB22 I guess I knee jerked and thought it was mine  I'd delete it but don't know how. I guess I'd rather screw up the posts than the boat, but Jeez.

Boy that paint work looks good. Love the stripe and lettering. Do you paint clear coat over the pin stripe? Just looks great.

I look forward to following your build. It's a grand adventure you've started for sure. My wife has been very supportive too, and it adds significantly to the fun. Lucky break having your dad around, as an extra pair of hands and eyes will be great. I struggled with squaring the jig and stations too...

Hey Larry, Spokaloo and I have posted a question on the graphite bottom that isn't really resolved yet. Especially for us in the southern heat, the late afternoon sun would be maybe hitting on the graphite area below the chine if the boat is trailored. Will it take the heat? Maybe GK knows, I think ...
