That's good news to hear for you guys Larry. (Don't wanna think about 6" in 5minutes though 8O). I know about droughts here in Texas. They're depressing, watching the land die so to speak, and then wonderful to see it rain. We're on a well at my house and have some concerns for its long term su...

Well, that's about what I was thinking----you gotta float to see exactly where the waterline is. So, you're saying put the bottom paint on but not all the way up. Then bring the topside paint down and "feather" it in the "no man's land" where abouts I'm thinking the true WL will ...

Sharp where boat meets water = good
Round where boat meets air or dirt = good

Ah, that is well put. I see the point clearly now. And, I'll take extra care on the transom when I get there.

Read your blog. It's more a liveline than a deadline. For me the building itself is the adventure, since I've never done anything like this before. The longer it takes the more bang for my $$$ That said, Nina is no piece of furniture. She's a big boy toy and we want to play. Have you decided ...

Hey Mark, I have no input on this as I know nothing, but I will follow the good peoples' replies keenly as I hope to be dealing with the same issues one day. I do see your wish for at least an inspection hatch on the front tank. No apologies for questions necessary. As you see, in the process you ar...

Hm... I think I can get your approach Mad. With the changing angle of the chine you could maybe adjust the angle of the cardboard as you pulled. In the end, Mecreature's dad's got a good idea, "slap it on and remove what don't look like a chine"! Especially if you're a Michelangelo and can...

So far it doesn't seem to be getting any easier. Too hard vs too soft. There's a joke here somewhere, but I won't go there.

Not sure he wants a soft chine Dougster

Well I'm having a hard time visualizing this. Pictures sure would help. And BTW, the "putty" referred to. Epoxy with what? Would EZ fillet work? I assume not Quick Fair, right? Staggering how little I know.

"large" means, like one foot square? Ply? 1/2"?
