Jeez this is embarassing, mine's the longest question thread I see. Well I tell you I'd love to close it out and move on. Here's my latest. My God it's a Rube Goldberg thing and I can hear Jacques and Joel laughing but surely they at least deserve that. I got 2 by 4's and straps. I got troubles and ...

We were loud. Played from 9:30 to 3:00, with a break for lunch. Lotsa fun. I had an hour before they came and fooled with a strap around station B. It very nicely forces the camber, but makes a low spot on the keel that is quite noticeable. No good. But, I'm now thinking take maybe two foot lengths ...

Eleven BELOW zero! Seems like that would be a national emergency. It's 62 this morning in Blanco and a front's coming in. They're saying lows in the mid twenty's and we're all getting damp undies about it. We don't know from cold weather. Hot is another thing. I wanted to draw my panels on the full ...

Gosh I'm not sure what I had for breakfast this morning. Well, really I don't think I get the question. How could I assemble the panels before I cut them? I do know I cut the panels in double pieces, with a blank ply underneath so I would have a mirror piece, port and starboard panel. I mean, I did ...

Thanks Huck for your kind words. It got me to thinking that, yeah, fear is what held me back so long from trying this and finally, I just let it go. Probably it's an act of courage to build any boat, really. And Eric, I'm with you one the fair thing, and believe I will get that in the end, stations ...

As a newbie builder I should chime in regarding time. For me, the time estimates are completely unrealistic. It take a LONG time as a beginner. I make errors that have to be corrected. I make errors in the corrections. I do things the hard way 'cuz I don't know the easy way. I do things the wrong wa...

Good to hear from you guys again. I'm at an important phase here and need the support. Eric---I'd say definately let that false transom float, for sure. Also, I stole 30 minutes tonight before domestic duties (grilling pork chops :) ) and loosened some ties on one side panel. I noticed something I n...

Thanks guys for sticking with me. I got home from work and read your comments, ate supper, did an hour of TV with my wife and went down to look at the hull. I do better when I digest folk's advice a bit, and let the images of the thing work in my mind. I have no significant block of time 'till this ...

Well that's VERY helpful Madrus, and would be easy to try. But one thing I will say regarding the tight zip stiches is that at the bow there is no way to make the bend and have any gap along the keel for six feet or so. Pulling the bottom panels around station A and against the bow mold jams the two...

I'll say this based on my limited experience with the early stages of my first significant build. Twice I've gone against my intuition in favor of Jacques' advice, and twice I've seen a good outcome. So if he or Shine say go left and I feel right, well, maybe I'll grumble but I'm goin' left. Learnin...
