Re: Stringers before or after inside glass?
I don’t like it Capt. Sorry. I’d be headed to the store for some carbide vibe tools. If you grind it all out; make sure and use sufficient overlap..butting the glass is not permitted either. Maybe the boat and power is small enough...not sure. The thing about monocoque (this is Merten’s realm, so I ...

Re: Stringers before or after inside glass?
Raw plywood stringers glassed to a raw plywood hull equals a potential water entry point for both. Where does water sometimes stand for hours, days or weeks? With a fully glassed hull before you install the stringers, you eliminate the hull part of the potential issue. Full disclosure, posted by a ...

I spot glue my bulkheads with hotglue. You can do same. You can use a shim if needed and glue tue bh in place. (Presand it for the joins). Some folks tape blocks to the hull for holding if it is wiggly. I clamp the top and gravity does the rest, but decks not on... If you are using padding; I glue t...

The teak bits look black in the pic.

Re: Woods Skoota 32DM
Yeah. I sort of think I might end up with a boat despite needing more drawings from the designer. He is not slowing me down; to be clear. I had some fun and am refurbishing the steering wheel from the Starfire 1972 24’ we crushed. The teak spoke (inserts) were cracking; so I had to epoxy them up and...

Re: 1984 Grady White 242 Caribbean Transom Repair
If the tape is matless; use some spray glue, tack in place over the spray glue and wet in place. If the tape has mat (it doesn’t that I recall), wet on a table and move to the boat. The second version is easier, but the mat backed tapes are heavier. For the transom. The last layer should have csm fa...

Not bondable means can’t solder grounds to it!
