Congrats Kickin' :) I'm happy for ya' - know what it feels like after an odysee of building! Great pics and thanks for posting them. I put Doel Fins on my O/B - Cheap, about $19.00. I went ahead and put those on even before I tested the boat. All I can say is that it goes on plane quick and doesn't ...

OD 16 - Kicker outboard bracket question

Jacques, I plan on putting a 1973 Mercury 40 (4hp) outboard on my OD 16 as a kicker/backup engine. Now, there is no space on the transom to mount it beside my OB (Johnson 40HP/2-stroke). The idea is to have some sort of backup, as I do want to go out farther and paddles are definetly not the backup ...

Not that I know anything about diving...but I would go for the HMD19: Stable, will take rough waters, economical. Cuddy cabin for storing gear or staying overnight, etc.?

I remember going over this a while ago..and did some digging and found this excellent thread: http://gallery.bateau2.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=7287&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0 My idea actually was to use some PVC pipe, attached to the console, which probably would work quite nicely....

I pretty much built my OD16 to specifications. I have a 12 gallon fuel tank under the seat of the center console and the battery located in the aft quarter seat. I also have a heavy duty marine battery under the bow (probably around 60lbs or so) as a reserve and to power electronics. I put a Doel-Fi...

Go to this forum: http://www.themarinedoctor.com - The guy there is really responsive and in my experience it is by far the best forum board when it comes to mechanical advice, parts, etc.

Thanks for the compliments..and btw, you won't see any brush strokes in my paint job. I used a foam roller and the paint really is quite self levelling. Thanks Hunch for the tip. I just thought about the clear coat, just to give the paint job more protection. Although, again - I must say that after ...
