Got the bow all glued up and the stitches removed. A little more of a gap at the four way intersection than I would have liked, but it all looks fair, and after rounding of the edges and sanding it will be fine.

Re: Eric's C21
Eric, You and me both. Use the trim tabs all the time. It is comforting from Jacques response that it is not a big deal. Thankfully there seems to be some wiggle room in boat building, compared to other forms of construction. Guess that is why I like it so much, don't have to be a brain surgeon. The...

Re: FS 19 build
Thanks Jeff. Closing in on the bow. Got everything glued up except about a one foot section on one chine seam and the final four way intersection of the side and bottom panels. Will tackle that in the morning when everything hardens up and I can remove the last spacer. Then I need to round over and ...

Re: sandpaper recommendations
Your boat is really glossy. What a shine. That isn't even a finish coat! Looks like some kind of new fairing/primer CAMO pattern. Better patent it quick before Mossy Oak or RealTree introduce it next year.
Can't wait to see the finished product. Keep it up!

Re: Eric's C21
Eric,
It is unlikely caused by you at all. I'm seeing on my build that the panels can dip in between the mold frames due to the weight of the unsupported panel. I've tried to minimize it, but when you flip the boat, my guess is that the dip disappears.

Re: sandpaper recommendations
The 3M sandpaper with the polymer coating on the back is the best stuff I've found to be durable. I would also recommend wet sanding the primer. The Silvertip Yacht Primer was a little too easy to sand for me. The Diablo sandpaper has not lasted for me at all.

Eric,
Great job on the fairing. I hope to be at that stage in another month. A little bit of Quick Fair goes a long way.

Re: FS 19 build
Instead of golfing this afternoon I put in another boat building session. My back is a little sore from packing and unpacking sound equipment over the weeekend. Those big speakers are heavy. Rounded the seams on the transom and sanded things smooth in preparation for applying fiberglass tape. Did th...

Re: FS 19 build
Thanks Jacques for the advice, it helped out this morning when I started gluing up the keel seam with EZ Fillet and then filled in the stitching holes and gaps in the chine seams after removing the stitches and spacers. 769 768 766 Been saving the seams closest to the bow for last. I have found that...
