Re: Post server upgrade forum config changes.
I think the submit button taking forever is killing traffic and thus business. I don't agree with it being a network issue on my end. If I hit submit one aecond after the first post; it stops the meter and tells me too soon to post. So, this means the input is already there. And the meter is in some...

Re: GT23
I'm an expert user at this point with 350 gallons of use.
I'd never use fast for neatcoatinf a 23' bottom.
Good luck. I thing you need to buy the ablative before you prime. They are strict about hours after primer, ftmp.

Re: Lithium Retrofit
Tell us a little more about Lake Clarke, how close it is to any salmon fishing, what kind of fishing is there and the price for renting the boat for a week or 5 days, etc.

Re: GT23
I can't go along with no primer. Even a single primer coat is like a sticky coat. The primer sticks to even slightly unsanded epoxy (think low spots). Then the ablative will also stick better to the primer than sanded epoxy. Ablatives are almost always applied before the primer cures fully (read dir...

Re: Calculating Wt & Bal on a new restoration boat
You'd make a plywood or timber jig. start by laying two long timbers like 2x4 or 2x8s parallel to the right side up boat and even with dwl or so on each side... Then screw another 2x across those two. These are the feet. Then you need some uprights. They will be screwed to the crossmember and will g...

Re: repairing gap in keel/hull
The gap is caused by too much emphasis or pressure on the forward jig, no? If the panels go up; they part and down they close, no? If you indeed cut too much away from the panels, then you can just make some ply slivers and stitch them in and keep some margin to allow for cabosil. But I kinda think ...

Re: Calculating Wt & Bal on a new restoration boat
For a center console; you only need lcb and lcg, unless you plan a high tuna tower or something wild like that. And LCB and LCG must be the same for the boat to trim level at static rest. Most planing vessels are designed for them to be about 1/3rd of the way from the stern, I believe with the engin...

I'm a very curious person. Here in MN, February has only a handful of layover ducks and season closes in November.goingbogueoutdoors wrote: ↑Mon Feb 19, 2024 7:02 pmMexico, if you’re actually wondering. Pics were from a month ago here in NC

Re: Foam sandwich plans
You would need to do a side by side engineering analysis.
I can help if you post the tds for okume as specified for the boat and coosa here.
One thing is flexural rigidity; will coosa stay in dev shape on the jig..?
