Pictures will say it best
But I do not yet know how to post them to Bateau. That long post was after three cups of tea. Coffee would have produced War and Peace. The quantity of content was to try to paint the picture that I am not yet able to upload. I'm trying to clean up some sketches to try and clarify the assembly order...

Uploading pictures features?
From Bateau.com I see the link for a page to upload pictures. When I try it I am redirected to... www.amateurboatbuilding.com/uploads/upload.htm And get a 404 Page Not Found. If there is any other way to upload pictures I am ignorant of it and appreciate a little guidance from anyone who knows a cur...

Zap photo or similar feature soon available to upload pics?
It would be nice to know when such a feature is available again, and where a tutorial and/or FAQ can be found on how to use it since I had never used the old feature and am completely ignorant of how it was used.

Battery position clarification for Caravelle
Thanks for the thought Leon. Your suggestion has its good points. I think mostly, that *crew* on this boat will be before the mast. Time will tell if this is a mistake. If a crew up front is handling the jib sheets, there will be blocks rigged to make that comfortable. I've made modification decisio...

Some designs in Old Issues of The Rudder recently published
Since there has not been a reply on this yet, if you feel inspired, there has been a recent publishing of select compilations of articles from * The Rudder*. There are several designs of which you speak there and you may find several S&G treatments of those designs are already out there, once yo...

I hope to see photos soon when Bateau2 is fully up again
I am building a Caravelle which should be completed next year near Fall season. You mentioned not having a digital camera yet. If you want to take MANY pictures during construction, a digital camera easily pays for itself quickly. I spent hundreds on processing, and then had to scan also. I finally ...

More meaty content is certainly appreciated
I began scanning this board hoping to beef up my knowledge of the latest developments Jacques has on his plate, and I find many people out there are cutups... It can be tough to digest no matter how you slice it. So if you've got more info on this moo-fish, fork it over. I seem to be pining about th...

Auxiliary for Caravelle?
I've almost completed the engine mounts for an aux for my Caravelle. Anyone know how much bouyancy foam I'll need to offset the weight of an old 442 with full Marine mods and a 20 gallon fuel tank? Think I'll be able to get up on plane with Mike's future Prop? Maybe with the help of the sails? Or wi...

Rake it is - thank you
Thanks Jacques. You anticipated the next question perfectly. I will also get a vang on there to tighten up the leech abit... slightly more heel, redistribute cargo, all to get slightly more weather helm, etc. But first I will definitely, next year, put maybe four to six inches rake (at the top). I'd...

Caravelle shift of mast one inch - effect on balance?
Greetings fellow boat builder tinkerererers, I have sketched up some mods for a Caravelle in order to add a battery box on either side of the front of the CB case. This electrical system powers Nav lights and a couple of blinding spots aimed, thru a narrow *hood*, at the top of the sails (ghosting a...
