I love the Chokoloskee! I've spent quite a bit of time down there. I can't wait to haul my boat over there. It is an awesome fishery!
Have you considered the Phantom 16? It seems like that one would fit your program pretty good. And those are nice boats!

Re: FS18, launched July 2014, AtTheBrink
I was able to test out the power tilt this weekend. It worked great. It helps the ride a little, helped the speed a little. The bigger thing it helped was my back! It was so nice to pull up on a flat and just hit the button instead of wrenching the motor out of the water by hand. Glad I got my tilt ...

Re: Majek 21 RFL rebuild
Hooter, your wife is right! Sand, oysters, rocks, shell, and the trailer bunks are going to scuff it up anyway. I wouldn't worry too much about it being shiny.

Re: FS18 vs FS17, multi-use on FL gulf coast?
I'm in love with the FS18, but every time I'm about to pull the trigger on it I start to doubt whether it is going to do everything I want it to. I'm a minimalist by nature and like the light weight, compactness, simplicity and economy (both building costs and small outboard/fuel economy) of it. Th...

Re: Scout?
23 - 24 ft with those classic lines to really turn heads. For power I was thinking 90hp to 115. We spoke at length in Port Aransas about that vicious circle of HP and weight so I do understand that. Top speed 25 to 30 is great. But like you said still comfortable at 6-7 without pushing too much of a...

Nice coincidence since you just had a little engine problem with the old engine. That "little" engine problem almost killed me 3 times Sunday! The first time it died on the way over to the show I was dead in the water in the middle of the ship channel! Thank God no ships were coming! It d...

Now, that catches my attention especially coming from somebody who knows what he gets into. Let's refine the type of boat. Exact size and style. I have close to 100 old plans in that style from old magazines. Not real plans but presentation drawings and can pull some out. 23 to 24'? Cruise at 6 kno...

A little update.. I got my birthday present a couple days early! A tilt and trim unit for the motor. Thank God above I don't have heave that motor up every time I get up on a flat to pole! I bought it on EBay, it is a refurbished factory tilt unit. My son and I installed it yesterday. It works like ...

Re: ignition issue
Jim, I chased down the problem. Where the wire harness comes into the front of the motor the wires had chaffed through the heavy duty insulation and through 2 wires. I got it fixed. You were right on the money, its the little stuff that gets us! Thank you for your help.
