Re: FS 19 build

After a busy weekend of celebrating St. Patrick's day in Shellman Bluff with the band I'm in, Slackwater, performing two concerts, one Friday night and the second Saturday Afternoon, after the parade, it was nice to retreat to the quiet of the garage this morning and get back to the boat project. Us...

Re: kayak pilot ship

How large are the kayaks that you are wanting to transport? Length & Beam? Anything long enough to be good for touring, like 14-17 feet are harder to handle. Inflatable kayaks and short 8-10 footers are substantially easier to deal with, but not as useful. The challenge in transporting kayaks is...

Re: kayak pilot ship

How far do you intend to transport your kayaks? Will this be just for day trips or will your "Mothership" need to provide any other amenities to you besides transportation? What other requirements do you have?

Re: FS 19 build

We have had house guests for the last five days which we really enjoyed. Took their two boys fishing everyday. The boat project took a backseat during their stay. Got back at it this morning. Took all the panels off to cover the molds and other areas with tape so they wouldn't stick to the panels wh...

Re: GV15 Build

Be very careful sanding. Very easy to sand through the primer. Would recommend only hand sanding and probably start with 320 or 400. On my canoe project I had 3 coats of the same primer and learned the hard way. Had to put on a 4th coat to touch up all of the issues I created while sanding.

Re: PG22 / PG25 transom mounted TotalScan transducer

You have a variety of options of how to mount that specific totalscan transducer to the transom. The transom on the Pangas are wide enough and the motor is set back enough even without a jack plate that you should have no problem mounting the transducer to the transom, without any interference from ...

Re: FS 19 build

My wife helped me to move the long panels into position on the mold. They are each attached with only 3 or 4 very loose zip ties. Very cold for here this morning, about 38 degrees F, so don't want to put too much stress on the panels. Will put more zip ties in later today after things warm up a bit....

Re: FS 19 build

Tom thanks. Just measured the diagonals again and they are within 1/8" of each other. I'm going to go ahead and put the panels on and see how they look.

Re: FS 19 build

Meant to say the stringer was originally sitting proud in Frame E, not D.
