Re: Abaco 23
It’s a good question. Wondered that myself, because of the description of being a design inspired by Bahamian boats. There aren’t many well known boat builders building this type of boat other than Albury Bros in the Bahamas. To Fallguys point, in the US, a 23 foot boat is a tweener. In some areas, ...

Re: BBC fiberglass hatch lm18
Those hatches will really kick your build up a notch.
More work I know, but the gains in having a flush deck and drier storage with better cosmetics is real.
You won’t be sorry. It will be worth it.

Re: Tiny Speedboat Build
Fun build thread to follow. Well done! Building a boat, especially one that will likely be outgrown, for a family member is really a gift of love and labor. Creating something unique and building lasting memories along the way for both you and them. Documenting it for the forum is a gift to all of u...

I’ve got more boats than I can use. Inshore, near shore, offshore. Anytime y’all want to do something, I’m game.

Re: Ez-Fillet hard enough on puzzle joints? (LM 18)
It looks to me like you have a lot of excess material around your puzzle joints and that may be contributing to your issue. You don’t want an uneven surface when you start applying fiberglass cloth to the panel because it will create bubbles and cause poor bonding. Perhaps sanding the excess materia...

Re: FL14 with 6.5hp surface drive?
A couple of other plans to also consider would be the DS 15 & the GV 14. Both are designed to be usable as duck skiffs and would probably have more carrying capacity for being a similar size as the FL 14. The FL 14 will not get on plane, displacement speeds only, it is pretty much a row boat tha...

Re: LM 18 SSI GA
I’m just up the road from y’all by the Harris Neck Wildlife Refuge. Exit 67 off of Highway 95. But I get down to St. sSimons & Brunswick about once a month. My wife works in Darien. I think Pee wee is pretty close to you.

Re: XF20 build.
Welcome to the forum and congratulations on your decision to embark on a boat building project! When I built the FS19 it took me 11 months of actual work over a 13 month period of time. It was my 4th boat building project after building two kayaks and a canoe. I was gone for about two months during ...
