Re: Poly panga trip to town'

I sure hope the surgery went well for your grandson. That is a nasty bug! I've been real lucky with all the fish and other assorted funky cuts I've had over the years, never much worried about them unless they needed stitches, but I ain't like most people  I know a few who have had serious prob...

Re: FS18

Seaslug is correct. In the FS18 you do not notch the stringers.

Re: New Braunfels - PH18 Jet

Congrats! Now she is officially a boat :D Dang nice one too 8) How do people mark the hull ID number on the boat? The neatest way is to get a metal tag laser engraved at a trophy shop. Epoxy and rivet it on. Unless you are very good with a router. They are only a few dollars. http://i1244.photobucke...

Re: Woodflour

It's sold here by the pound, and 5 pounds should be plenty. http://boatbuildercentral.com/proddetai ... =E_woo_5lb

Like Fuzz said, it's cheap, get plenty.

Re: Sintes 21 Rebuild

I wanted to do the grinding outside but the temp was in single digits and I do not handle the cold as well as I use to :( 8O I'd move :!: :!: Yep, an angle grinder will get-er-done, but it's an implement of destruction if not used with a light touch :help: And I know you have a mess of dust to clea...

Re: Sintes 21 Rebuild

That is a nasty job that I don't envy! At least you got it done :D

I would roll a sealing coat of epoxy on before I started fairing.

Re: 1957 Wagemaker Wolverine Restoration

The Jasco works great and will usually peel off one coat of paint at a time. Just be real careful not to get it on your skin, it will strip skin off too and burn the beejeezus out of you :help: And DO NOT get it in your eyes :!:

Re: When to coat wood?

or apply the tape and coat the bare wood so you can wash the whole hull?
This is what I prefer. My shop is open and a water hose is the best way to handle all the dust. I coat it once as soon as possible.
