Re: FS 17 - Raised Sheer
Nice work Joe, conrgats on the pre-paint splash! Looks really professional! Taking Mom for a ride around the harbor islands in a boat you built in her garage is priceless!

Re: Cameron's FS14LS+5%
I wouldn’t expect a flat plywood panel to stay flat without something holding it that way across all temperature ranges and conditions. I agree, that seems like a big ask. Jeff, which direction is it warping? Center up or ends up? Ends up. Going to try to get the boat titled and registered in the m...

Re: Jeffs FS14 LS
Good to know. I'm looking at 48" - but good to know 42" would work as well. I've been trying to tell myself that I don't need one, but the truth is I don't think I'd know what to do without one. I do a lot of solo fishing and poling platforms and push poles are pretty useless when your al...

Re: Jeffs FS14 LS
Jeff - what's the shaft length on your trolling motor? Would you want it to be longer or shorter? It's 48" and I'm pretty happy with it. Could be shorter, maybe as much as a foot shorter and still work fine, probably more so if your boat is not +10% like mine. The whole thing is a fly-line mag...

Re: C19 Stretch and re-build - Engine on!
Agreed, CR. This was a truly inspiring project to follow: take a boat that you spent a few years building, which then had some very serious issues due to material problems, and instead of scrapping and starting fresh, you salvage, re-build, improve, refine and re-finish it into something better and ...

Re: Cameron's FS14LS+5%
How did the lack of hatch locks contribute to warping? I'm not following that one. I think if they were held down by the locks they'd be less prone to warping. As it is they are free to "move" as they wish. I did have an idea for some poor-mans locks but never implemented. The wraping isn...

Re: Cameron's FS14LS+5%
I happen to have some extra cam locks (3 I think) if you're interested. They're the "MxEol" if you want to look them up on amazon. Hmmm, that's pretty compelling! I would need 6 total, 2 each for the long hatches, so that would get me halfway there.....! Are you guys over-drilling, fillin...

Re: Cameron's FS14LS+5%
I need to up my anchor game, I'm in the dark ages! I was too cheap to spring for the hatch locks and I now have some hatch warping, so it was probably a bad place to save money. Anyway, deck is looking great Cameron, keep up the excellent work! That's what Christmas is for! How did the lack of hatc...
