Re: How long can you go without UV protection on fiberglass?
Thanks, guys. Got it under a tarp for now during the day and airing out at night.

How long can you go without UV protection on fiberglass?
I'm building a GV 11 outside, I've got the outside of the hull glassed but not primed and painted yet. I usually leave the tarp off so moisture doesn't build up inside (inside isn't fully coated yet). I had some things come up at work, so it may be a few more weeks before I get time to apply primer....

Camper plans
Are there any photos out there of the collapsing camper?
Thinking about my next project after I finish my GV11, and I was thinking about building a little camper. Looks like a cool design, but couldn’t find any discussion on it on the forum.

Re: GV11 build Seattle
Things are moving forward pretty quick, but blue sky has been a DIY affair around here. Made a couple mistake because I was frantically trying to get some things done between weather windows and chasing down soaked instructions blowing away in the wind, but I'm pretty sure it'll float eventually. If...

Re: GV 11 materials question
Crisis averted--totally hardened up this morning. However, the different batches definitely went at different speeds, so I'm guessing the mix was off but not catastrophically far off.
I am using marinepoxy 2:1. Now I know to be more careful.

Re: GV 11 materials question
Had a quick epoxy question. I just did the butt blocks on the bottom panels this afternoon. I have very little experience working with epoxy and just started reading a little bit more about working with it (which I should have done BEFORE starting). I now understanding that it is vitally important t...

Re: GV 11 materials question
And one final question, should the interior of the hull be glassed before the frames are attached (so there would be longer sheets across the whole hull) or after (which would involve different pieces navigating around the frames)? Seems like glassing before the frames would be easier, but I'm not s...

Re: GV 11 materials question
Great, thanks guys. Just about to pull the trigger and order materials.
Evan, should the transom get any fiberglass as well? Or is it strong enough as is with the knees and supports?

Re: GV 11 materials question
For the seams and frames, the plans call for 4'' 9oz fiberglass tape. I'm only seeing 6 oz or 12 oz in the store. Is it ok to substitute? If so, better to go bigger or smaller?
