Air Bubbles at Seams. How big a problem are they?
The small ones will break off during the sanding. Just fill with resin, flow coat style.

Warehouse Availability
No, as we say somewhere at our web site, only the office is in Vero. All supplies are shipped directly from the manufacturer: System Three for the resins, several other places for the fiberglass.

Air Bubbles at Seams. How big a problem are they?
JimW is correct but what is the size of those small air bubbles? And how many?
I would grind down any bubble larger than 3/8" or any area that is clearly full of smalller air bubbles then cover with another layer of glass or, if it´s an isolated bubble, with resin.
To avoid air bubbles:<B...

Scilly Gig?
The Scilly Gig is truly inspired by the . . . Scilly gigs of the Scilly islands. I remember those races out of St Mary and yes, the boats were much longer.
You can modify the plans but there is much involved: plywood layout, stiffness, freeboard, stability etc.
Once you change the plans but yo...

Drawing for OB15 unclear, need help!
Side panel. That line is the intersection of the bottom panel with the side. Look at the typical section, you will understand: the boat has a built-in step chine.

The BOM is correct: 10 mm ply is the same thing than 9 mm. It depends on the supplier. Believe me: I was a boat builder in Europe ...

IMHO it´s too much but you frequently see 21 footers with a 150.
Our boats are lighter due to the material and don´t need that much HP but, a 150 is within USCG capacity specs. Just be careful, don´t go WOT.

HM-18/19 construction completed
Great report, thanks.
Yes, those who want to use her as a displacement boat can put a 6 HP on the back.
With all your experiments, this boat seems to keep you busy enough to forget about smoking: another good way to justify the expense to our wives!

V10 Measuring & cutting the pieces
To give the butt blocks a 45 degree edge before gluing them is a matter of preference.
I never do. I like to keep things simple and just grind all the edges down after the butt block is glued on the parts.
You should grind the edge where the panels touch (side to bottom etc.) to avoid interfer...

PH18 Glass and Resin Usage vs. Kit Contents
1. there is enough fabric to go 6" up the sides, average. That´s all we we specify.
2. It sound about right if you already coated all the hull with resin and finished all outside taping.
Resin usage varies very much with the builder: beginners use up to 2 times more than experienced build...
