Re: 1971 Silverline repair
If your center stringer is correct, I would use a 4-6’ level mark the center stringer in 1’ increments and lay it Across (use a speed square) square with stringer and measuring down every foot. I had to do the same thing on mine as the outside stringers were rotted on the bottom. It worked perfectl...

Re: Stratos Restoration
I believe that Stratos was a high quality, high end boat, built with hand laid glass. They were best known for their bass boats, and were competing directly against Ranger. IMHO: This boat is worth your attention. It's possible that I know a potential buyer, if it's for sale after you restore it :w...

Re: 99 Explorer 19tv restoration question
Chase tubes are cut and ready, not a lot on this one. One 4” for controls and one 1.5” from console to forward deck for trolling motor wires. And navigation lights, and depth finders, and etc  Seriously, pull some spare wires, or at least a pull string, for future expansion. What about your CC...

Re: 99 Explorer 19tv restoration question
No need to glass the bottomside. 3 coats of neat (unthickened) epoxy will be fine. IIRC: That's the way the Cracker always did it.Explorer 19TV wrote: ↑Sun Jan 27, 2019 8:18 amAny comments on glassing the bottom of the sole, it will not have any abrasions of course could I use 12oz on that to save on some epoxy?

Re: 99 Explorer 19tv restoration question
That sole support is AWESOME It still looks like a lot of wasted space underneath, which could be used for lockers and fuel tanks, though.
Have you thought about chase tubes for controls, wiring, etc? NOW is the time to put them in

Re: 1971 Silverline repair
Best way I have found is to run a string line over center of stringer location level with bottom of sole (bow to stern) location and measure every 12” and record it that will give you a pretty accurate strat. That’s how I did mine center stringer and it came out perfect. That's a pretty simple way ...

Re: 99 Explorer 19tv restoration question
It is wide and a very comfortable height, nice to get behind underway. The sole appears to be only 6" below the gunnels, so it should easily pass Cracker Larry's "bucket test". It appears that it will pass the test anyway. Yes, it is a nice console. Still kicking around the idea of e...

I wish you the best, and hope you get many years of pleasure and enjoyment from this project. There is nothing like looking back, and saying, "I did this" :!: However, I DO have my doubts :help: I am for real, I'm mostly doing this to have a record of what I did and get info from experien...

Good question. I don't know, but I've always accepted that it's real. I just hope that this guy doesn't kill himself, or anyone else, when he splashes itExplorer 19TV wrote: ↑Wed Jan 16, 2019 10:48 pm I hope I don’t get band for this but is this thread for real or is someone yanking everyone’s chain
