I'm a little late in the conversation, but for another data point: 15' classic Boson Whaler - hull 480 lbs. 70 hp 2 stroke 2001 carborated engine. Skiid on 2 weeks ago: 200 lbs adults driver and spotter, 150 lb skiier - no problem to pull up on doubles, then ski on slalom. would have pulled up on sl...

Thanks for the advise. I've found Interlux Interstrip. I'm planning on trying that first, then fairing/high-build primer, fiberglass wash, and S3 LPU.

I'm in Cape Coral - area code 33914. If he wants to bring it to me, I'll take pictures to help you out. Google maps says 39 miles and 45 mins.

I could try sanding it anyway, but then I might be left with no gelcoat in places, have to re-gelcoat or put...

best method to strip one-part PU?

I've got an old Whaler that was painted with Brightside polyurethane(1-part) about 8 years ago. I don't believe that it was prepped properly at the time, and now the paint is flaking up in large areas -the largest being a foot square. The problem is the paint is partially over non-skid, and I want t...
