Re: would a 2.5hp kicker be enough on a FS17

I had a 3.5 kicker on my GW tournament 19, which is a relatively heavy boat. I just happened to have the motor and the boat just happened to have a bracket. It did get me home once when I thought I had run out of 2-smoke oil, and I did use it for some 2 knot trolling. Like FG said, it clogged a lot,...

Re: 1984 Grady White Overnighter 20 - Transom Rebuild

This is a good "from the back" replacement. I know you said that wasn't your preference, but unless you are completely paralyzed by competing options, you're not properly in the spirit of boat-building. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jUxeTQ325U0&list=PLDFOb030syP54VqPsBAmYtBj32S...

Re: No Excuse

Man, tough choice! Lower weight + Tee top or heavier without........ 1/4 mile, I'll favor the light boat. I dont think the wind resistance will have time to play a role. In a longer race, in anything but a tail wind, Clara. Can i do that? Bet both sides? Looks great, in any case: fast, amazing work....

Re: Tips for drawing batten/plywood parts storage??

I used something similar to your plan for a batten. I cut a few different widths and played around with them to see which i liked. I may have used a pvc pipe for the long curve of my bow.

Re: Tips for drawing batten/plywood parts storage??

I store all my plywood, whole and cut parts, on the floor under my 4x8 workbench between 1" sheets of insulation. Works for me, no warpage since i moved to this method. Maybe not the most convenient.
