Re: Modified CC (very modified)

In this case, positive upright flotation with buoyancy foam in strategic place will make the boat safer than an exceedingly high sole. +1. in mine, I notice a stability difference from sitting on the bottom, to on my knees. You will get water in a canoe, it's just a byproduct of the paddling. I did...

Re: T's GF12

question regarding the sponsons. Does the length they add get added to the legal length of the boat? The reason I ask, in some states there are different licensing and registration requirements (and prices) for boats of different lengths.

Will
I was thinking you (I) might even add some support, for the build time, that would be removed later. Just seemed more efficient then building something, and then pulling it off and on to a trailer anyway.

Dumb question

I'm sure, but I'll ask anyway. I may start a larger build (17 to 19 foot) in the future, and I noticed everyone flipping them to a cradle, could you flip it, and continue to work on it flipping it straight to a trailer?

light HC12

OK, lets just say someone, like me, wanted to build another canoe type boat, like say an HC12. And also figure I wanted to keep it as light as possible. If I was willing to glass the outside and maybe the inside, could I drop down to 4mm ply? If so, would the woven be acceptable or would I need Biax...

Re: SUP Build (final prototype)

We have some dry counties up here, but that has nothing to do with rain fall. 8O Could outriggers be used for stability? Have you ever designed any outriggers for your small craft? I was thinking that some small, ubiquitous design would be of great value to many of us. I am half thinking about addin...

Re: FS17 Tiller Motor

bigger tillers can be difficult to operate and even dangerous if operator does not have experience. i have a 40 on mine and i would not want more. Some of the guide boats where I used to live will use very large tiller motors, I have seen up to a 250. Seems a bit crazy to me, but they seem to do OK...
