If you chamfer all those edges at a 45, then the joints may not look so offensive, they'll look decorative. "What you can't hide, feature!" Assuming you can also get rid of the bulges, I think Jonnymac had some good advice there.

Looks great Dan! To my eye it looks like you have plenty of freeboard below that scupper, will be interesting to see if your feet stay dry.
