Re: rb12
I've finished the hull and I am in the process of installing the stations. The stringers and motor well are in, as is frame A. I went back to the plans and discovered on one image only, a SKEG. I didn't see this referred to at all. I have already painted the hull and flipped the boat. Is the skeg op...

Re: Used Outboards On-line
I just bought a motor from smalloutboards.com. I'm fortunate enough to be in driving distance. I had a great experience. I'm still building the boat it's going on so I can't get it out in the water but I tested everything and it all works great. I got a 30 horse 20" Johnson with full controls f...

Re: rb12
Single cockpit is fine. I wasn't going to do the double anyway. Thanks for checking.

Re: rb12
awesome, thanks. that's plenty fast enough for a boat of its size. I will look for the lightest motor I can find, and go on a diet.

Re: rb12
awesome, thanks. I didn't think electric motors could match this horsepower range, but it gives me something to look into. Any idea what the top speed might be with the 20hp 4-stroke and two people?
Thanks,
Jeff

Re: rb12
Thanks, Jacques, I have ordered the kit and all the supplies. Can't wait! I'm also going to start looking for an appropriate motor. Do you have a maximum weight recommendation? There is always the age-old debate of 2-stroke vs 4-stroke. I think 2-stroke will win here due to weight, but I'd love to c...

Re: rb12
I wonder if the helm station can be placed in the front cockpit.

Re: rb12
Thank you. Has anyone built the dual cockpit version? If so, How differently does the boat handle? it seems like the helm position is farther back towards the motor in this version. That means that theortically if I built the four seater, it would compromise the performance when the boat was piloted...

Re: rb12
Yes, that thing is pretty stunning. I was hoping to get more of an idea of proportions from pictures. I would also be interested if people think that building an NC16 is enough of a preparation for building the runabout 12. I really want that boat, but I don't want to bite off more than I can chew. ...
