Hooter, your wife is right! Sand, oysters, rocks, shell, and the trailer bunks are going to scuff it up anyway. I wouldn't worry too much about it being shiny.

Jim, I chased down the problem. Where the wire harness comes into the front of the motor the wires had chaffed through the heavy duty insulation and through 2 wires. I got it fixed. You were right on the money, its the little stuff that gets us! Thank you for your help.
