Re: Maiden Voyage for Jaws
This is the problem with the small engines under 40 HP there has not yet been a stantard set for them. Daddy found the same problem with his Yamaha 25. What I would do is take off that clamping board that you have now and extend a new one a little wider(12") Then glue a peice to it from the tra...

Re: Trailerable power boats
As I recall it is slightly narrower in Australia but not by much. Anything under 8'3" should be okay, but check your states/provinces, I can never remember which you have, trailer laws.

Re: Garvey 13
Hi Mikey welcome to the group! I believe that there was someone else that built the GV13 in your neck of the woods. Are you going to be fishing by your self or with a couple of freinds. A GV13 is a pretty big boat to cartop but doable depending on your vehicle. A Rover would be nice!  My ...

Re: PH18 Build in North Dallas
I think I answered my own question. Here are the properties for the laminating epoxy and the GelMagic. They both are stronger than snot and more than enough for this little boat. Laminating Resin Tensile Strength, psi (ASTM D638) 7,900 Tensile Elongation (ASTM D638) 8.0% Tensile Modulus, psi(ASTM D...

Re: Building a console
But this offsets the need of having to sit on the middle seat when your by yourself with a tiller extension. Depends on the boat I guess, but that's not always the case. I had two different 14 ft boats and both of them were easily trimmed good enough with just the placement of the fuel tank at the ...

Re: Building a console
Lots of consoles to look at and the tubing run from it to the motorwell from it. Costs, yea it will cost more, Steering $2-250, Engine Controls $300 or so. But this offsets the need of having to sit on the middle seat when your by yourself with a tiller extension. Don't know what boat you want to bu...

Re: FS17 build in central Texas
Okay Wade I see what happened here. Diameter is usually written 1st then pitch in prop terminology. So you have tried a 11.1 x 13 and a 11.4 x 12 pitch prop so far. I gotcha now. So yes, you picked up your rpms with the smaller pitched prop by having less pitch not diameter. The Apollo or similar wo...

Re: Plans for download?
Yep all you have to do is ask.chicagoross wrote:You can find out more about any bateau plan, right here, with a few questions, than you can find anywhere else about any other plans (before purchasing). And the information will include both designer and real-world builder information.
