Martin if you do get a guarantee that it will be replaced if it peels like Gary's did. It's the formulation of the Poly that is bad not the application. System3 said they are reformulating it, until they do I wouldn't use it.

PD glad you got a good prop glad it doesn't cavitate I think you mean ventilate, two different qualities. PowerTech's are excellent. Often recommend them. You get a 3 blade or 4 blade. Always interested in what someone props there boat with. You can never learn to much. Let me know what you propped ...

Re: Cheap Canoe 1st Build
KS it was one of the Raleigh guys there that took his canoe and kayak in to work and then went paddling after work that had used the graphite coating that got me to feel it was not a bad deal. Now I am not sure if he had fiberglassed his bottoms or not. But he praised the graphite coating. 5-6 years...

Re: Nice Canoe questions
I hope this project continues on and we can continue to help you on it. The idea of taking the finished canoes and your scouts on a trip to the Boundary waters really sounds like a great adventure. Contact Jacque or Shine and they can help you on licences and even prices on plywood. For 8 boats it m...

Re: Cheap Canoe 1st Build
I live in white water heaven here in the Smokey Mountains 4oz cloth won't add much weight to your canoe(8oz maybe) and then use Graphite/epoxy instead of paint on the bottom.
Good luck enjoy and have fun!!

Mike this is what I'm going to use, just a simple bulkhead fitting from where the main line comes in to where the engine line comes out. http://www.iboats.com/Seasense-Bulkhead-Fitting/dm/cart_id.579198558--session_id.010904785--view_id.56642 Don't know if it will work for you but it is the simplest...
