Re: Florida Skiff Challenge

this does sound excellent. I'd run an OB19 as part of this! She rides even better with a cooler full of beer in front of the console!

Re: GV13 - flotation

In My gv-10 I coated the under-seat foam with a light coating of glass. Otherwise, you are going to be kicking it, have things slide into it, etc... that will dent just foam. I think I used either 4 or 6 oz woven, it has worked great. Don't forget limber holes - a half round of PVC pipe helped a lot...

Re: Sand before the next layer of fairing after 24hrs

Just FYI, I only used slow hardner here in S. Fl and never had blush. Didn't even worry about it. It has been launched 3-4 years now and used well and I can confidently say that slow hardner - don't worry about blush. I kept some fast hardner around and used it sparingly when needed, that did blush....

Re: Gas Tank/Sealer

I used the primer and coal tar route. Super easy, smells nasty. I'll have to cut the console from the deck if ever having to replace the tank, so a little extra effort was worth it!

Re: 2016 Southeast Builders Meet- Homosassa, FL Oct. 21-23

Hey guys, I won't be able to make it there this year. At least not to stay, but I'm trying to be able to swing by and shoot the breeze for a happy hour type timing. I'm going to try, but count me out for staying there. Larry - sorry to hear about your health challenges. That sucks. We may not have f...

Re: Question about the gv10 and 11

I built the GV10 and raised the shear a bit - it was easy to do. So that's an option for you. However, After using it for a while I don't really think it was needed.

Oh man, I want to go! I've had my head underwater for the past 6 months, now planning some fun time. Will check with the PTO bank and with the boss (Robin). Sounds like a great time, and I didn't get to go last year.

Re: OB19 VS FS19

It's my opinion that the OB19 would not do well with a 60hp, at least not the way I built it. I was on smilinmatt's that had a 90 and it did well. Mine has a 115. So, if you are set on a motor in the 60hp range, i don't think the OB19 is the way to go - it's a much bigger boat. OTOH, I would build t...

Re: tarpon skiff

I bet this will be a beautiful boat! I love the lines of some of those classic inboards that we see around Charlotte Harbor/Boca Grande. My vote is diesel - 22-23 knot cruise, 3-4 MPG, small keel, NICE!
