Re: Eric's C21

Eric I'm home. An eventful last Thursday, Iowa had to show her muscle. About 2PM she hit the cabin with straight line winds of 60 up to 80 mph winds. It rocked the cabin. Threw the 100+ bound grill + propane tand off the raised deck plus another 20 feet past it. Welding joints broken couldn't ...

Re: LM 18 First Time Build

Capt UB great choice on the LM18. Finish it well and you will have most of your cost for your C17. :D Or keep for areas the C17 can't go. :D d

Re: Yet another "scaled CS25?" thread

You can't just add pm tp H and I. It must be a full scaling from the bow to the stern and for each frame So for example frame A-B is 30" a 10% growth is 33" and so on. You can not just add leggth onto the sternt. The boat will out of balance. See this http://bateau2.com/howto/scaling.php Tom

Re: Question from a lurker - epoxy and graphite issue

As long as you can't scratch it with a nail I would not worry about it. I have CL OD18 and the graphite and epoxy has turned a light black like yours. I am on vacation away from the boat so can't take a picture of it.' If you can scratch it you do need to put an other layer on. Most of us put 3 laye...

Re: ST21 Hybrid Powered "SKINNYDIP" Noosa Australia

I agree with the two above Had a diesel tractor and had to bleed the lines at the injectors. Barely crack them open don't want to be spraying fuel every where. :D I had a pump at the secondary filter so did not have to crank the tractor.

Re: Rapid SK14 Build (I hope!)

For what it is worth Meranti is more rot resistant than Okume. Okume just bends better and is lighter, it is farmed and grown in Africa. Merante is farmed and grown in Indonesia and has problems with false brads being on the market that causes trouble for it. I like Okume on the outside where it has...

Re: Layout dreaming/designing (FS17)

You are right guy got my time line wrong I am on vacation and don't have my files with me. I was propping an FS17 for Kurt a member from Crystal River in 2007 and he brought it to the second Bateau Builders Meeting that was held in Crystal River. He put a 60 HP Yamaha 4 stroke on it and in addition ...

Re: fs17 materials

A good friend of mind who built several boats and has since passed away found it better to buy his marine plywood from the good folks here at BBC than try to find it in GA. He lived in the Savannah area. This group can supply you with all the epoxy, fiberglass and everything else you would ever need...

Re: LM18 "Cast & Blast"

What size tank concealed or on deck? Most vent hose for concealed tanks is 5/8" taken to an outside vent or a combined fuel fill/vent fitting. Which are the best.
