Re: FS 19 build

The notch finessing that I referenced was due to the fact that the stringer was sitting proud of Frame D by a good amount, about 3/4". Checked everything for level and squareness first and then tried making the notch on Frame D deeper. It did not help as the stringers were hanging up in both fr...

Re: FS 19 build

Thanks Jacques. I cut out a small section on the bottom of the bow mold, because it was longer than Frame A, and since I boxed in my strongback it was not able to fit unless I notched the strongback or altered the bow mold. The pictures below show what I mean. They also show the cleats that I used t...

Re: FS 19 build

Got the molds installed on the strongback and the stringers fit to the molds. Had to do some notch finessing to get everything to lay fair. Also cut out a notch from the bow mold so it would fit. Starting to look like something!

Re: FS 19 build

Got half of the molds attached to the strongback. Will get the rest done in the morning. I need to notch the bow mold to fit due to the enclosed deck and frame of the strongback, will do that tomorrow too.

Re: FS 19 build

Glued the motorwell sides to the outsides of the stringers tonight. 640 Seems like the Hardener for the Gel Magic is nearly gone, but I still have half a tub of the Resin. Not sure why because I've been measuring very carefully 2:1 Resin:Harrdener. I may need to order some more Hardener, or some woo...

The old buddy bucket! There have been many a fishing trip where that would of been welcome compared to what was available. :D

Thanks Jeff. Got the stringers glued up. Used dowels again to help keep things aligned.

Re: willg's PH18

Looks awesome. I hope that my current project has the level of fit and finish that your boat does. Really looks good. I expect you will get a lot of admiring stares and people asking what brand of boat it is.

Re: FS 19 build

Got the second side panel glued up and the rest of the pieces cut out from the sheets. Had some time this morning so got a lot done. All the frames, the console, motor well sides, sole, casting deck. Everything is now cut out that came in the kit. Will probably glue up the stringers this evening. Th...
