Re: DAYTRIPs Bertram 28 Strech

Got the gunnels built this past week. Started glassing them in yesterday. This is the last “structural “ piece that is to be built on the hull before flipping it over and attacking the bottom. http://gallery.bateau2.com/albums/userpics/14945/6B695042-9418-473D-83D5-8FB698F92EB4.jpeg http://gallery.b...

Re: DAYTRIPs Bertram 28 Strech

Hi mike, Been batting it around for a while. The Yamahas are perfectly fine just getting old. I am amazed at the condition of them to be honest. That said I just “feel “better with newer power. I have thought about it since the mercury v8s hit the market. Going to the 300. I think it will be a bit m...

Re: DAYTRIPs Bertram 28 Strech

Hi guys, I am repowering the boat and will be selling the Yamahas. They are low hours, under 600 I believe, 30”, 2006 TUR 250s. They run great and have been well maintained. I have an issue on the port motor that I will be investigating. Found some water in oil. Suspect the head gasket is compromise...

Re: Mako 254 rebuild

Looks great! At the buildups just grind the core down a bit. With your sandwich thickness will be the same just more glass/less core in some areas. The thicker glass is no problem. On the flange thicker in the corners is better. The total force I calculated on my bracket was 11000 lbs at a 6g load! ...

Re: Aquasport 22-2 new deck and hatches

Hey Rick, My so is now 21! Time flys. I didn’t see an email? Jim.wells@weitz.com. Was just going to add content there. More progress yesterday. We glassed wire chases to under side of deck. Also cut in 10x10 access hatches in area over fuel fill and fuel supply hose. http://gallery.bateau2.com/album...

Aquasport 22-2 new deck and hatches

Thought I would share a project my Son (and I by default) took on. A friend wanted to replace the deck in his 22-2. Boat has been in his family since early 80s so it has a lot of sentimental value. We decided to core the deck and bulkheads with 3/4" thick Airex t92.100. First thing we did was l...
