Re: GF16 Kansas build
Not much to report from this week. Had to fly out to Virginia for work (yep, right into hurricane land). Flights were a mess coming back. Neglected to run the resin numbers in anticipation for glassing this weekend...yeah...not enough epoxy on hand. Had a couple buddy's coming over to help out too (...

Peter, who built a beautiful CS25, asked the same question. Mr. Mertens replied:

Moving right along!
Hear you on a sore back after working on something. Anymore I dread working on or under my vehicles since I know all kinds of body parts are going to be sore, but I have a hard time paying someone to do something I can do.

Very cool!
I agree about not just pictures of the boat and building but your local area too, that would be very cool to see.

Re: Eric's C21
Absolutely love watching your build come together Eric, it's a work of art!
For something like this (a big, well crafted boat) you should save all your pictures plus narrative and have a coffee table book printed.
Something you can pass down in your family!

Re: Narfi's FS17 - Build Thread
That is very cool! I know about kerfing wood but never done it myself. How far into the wood do you have to cut? There were 2 layers of ply not cut. The outer layer grain wraps around the bend. It's my first time as well and it was marginal getting it to bend that sharp.... perhaps 2 layers of 1/4&...

Re: FS14- Bayou City Boat
So something like this cut down? https://www.woodcraft.com/products/teak-burmese-3-4-x-3-x-36 Yes but not from Woodcraft. Get like 3 of those and clamp them together on a table and do cross cuts and then cut them length wise. 8O 8O When I turned pens I would buy some wood from Woodcraft but mostly ...

Re: FS14- Bayou City Boat
Looks nice but labor intensive. How thick is that teak? I still have to find the wood! But I think it will be around 1/2". I can add braces under it to help support it. The stringers are 20" apart so that is one dimension, but the other is yet to be determined. If I go this way it will be...
