When you have the deck out sand the PVC pipe so that the tape will hold better to the pipe. This has been discussed before on here. Any of you heard of using this before? Putting dykem (?) blue in acetone or denatured alcohol and spreading across a surface to be faired and sanded. MEK will melt cured epoxy. I keep a container with some in it to degunk bubble busters. A stainless steel wire brush makes short work of it. I'll have to try that. A couple of my thoughts. We had a wood burning insert in the fireplace when we bought the house. Until the insert got hot enough it wouldn't draw properly. I used to have to use a plumbers blowtorch to get the wood burning hot and quick (oak and hickory). Fast forward a couple of years and new doors...
