Re: Venting Fuel Locker
With regards to Fallguy’s comment about venting over the side - I heard/ read somewhere that so long as center console boats have a self bailing deck with open scuppers it is considered “ok” to vent off the console as the assumption is that the vapours floating out the deck will go out the scuppers....

Re: Venting Fuel Locker
I have bought a bilge blower and I will attach it to a cowl vent on one side. I have another cowl vent that I will attach a 3” diameter hose to the bottom back of the locker. Then I have some Louvre vents that I will instal. I am planing to make sure that the bilge blower can clear fumes before star...

Re: Venting Fuel Locker
Ok - my best attempts at a drawing in section of the fuel compartment layout. There are 4 chase tubes that enter the compartment - and there are wires that pass under captains feet. These are in conduit - but it could be better. However, all terminals/ bus bars/ fuse panels etc are under the console...

Re: Venting Fuel Locker
Thanks for the responses - 1) point taken about the conduit and will get that sorted. 2) to be clear the tanks are vertical “Jerry can” type tanks with a fitting that dips down into them and screws to the lid (not the horizontal tanks with the little brass venting nut). This is a system I have only ...

Venting Fuel Locker
So I would like to understand better what is considered the correct way to vent a fuel locker. In my case, I do not have fixed tanks - but rather removable plastic tanks that I carry on and off the boat. These live in the center console, and sit on the inside of the hull of the boat. In other words ...

Re: Ongoing C19 questions...
I suspect you would have to have the deck drain higher than the part going into the water… ie your scupper outlet at the waterline.fallguy1000 wrote: ↑Mon Feb 21, 2022 3:32 pm
Curious. How would you do it? I get the reason, so you step to port and star side is up vice versa, but how without having a high spot do they cross?

Re: Ongoing C19 questions...
Hey Dan - was poking around online and came across a comment about how many production boats “cross their scuppers” … at first I didn’t understand what they were on about … but I think they connect the port scupper to drain at starboard and vice versa. At first I couldn’t think why - but now wonderi...

Re: Engine ECU remapping
I bet your eyes light up when you hear that your 250 could be a 400 …. Of course you would never use it at full throttle right

Engine ECU remapping
Does anyone have any experience/ know anything about this?
Apparently certain engines where they are a detuned engine on a block for a bigger one can get some pretty substantial power gains? Or is it all mumbo jumbo?
Just curious.

Re: Hope2float's P-21 in Jackson
I have not posted in years.. Got up early and decided to take a look. The first post I see was from a friend Lane and his P21. Wow what a coincidence. My p21 is great. 150 Yamaha four stroke for power. I sleep out on it during the summer all the time. 50 miles per hour is top speed. Good luck lane ...
