Re: epoxy??? which one??

Thanks guys. I really appreciate all the help so far from everyone, and I haven't even started building... One more question, why is it more expensive to order the fiberglass kit for this boat that it is to lump it all together yourself? That's a real brainteaser... I figure you would get some kind ...

Re: plywood question before ordering

But I will always know that I could have lightened the boat by 40 pounds and didn't because I was a cheap skate!   I was saying spend the money :!: In 6 months time you won't know the difference in cost, but that 40 pounds will haunt you forever. I guess it was the SWMBO comment tha...

Re: plywood question before ordering

Thanks guys. Just some quick numbers, looks like a 40 to 50 pounds on weight and $285 difference in price. Looks like I have a choice between saving weight or saving money. Hmmmm... My Dad always said that in 6 months time, you wouldn't know the difference in the money. (Caution: SWMBOs never forge...

Or is MarinEpoxy going to do the job just fine? I want to build a good boat, not cut corners or go cheap. ...

Re: FS18 Questions

Most 30hp motors weigh about the same as 25hp motors of the same make. I plan on going with an evirude etec 30hp on my fs18.

plywood question before ordering

What is the difference in the Okuome and the joubert Okoume plywood? The weight is the same and the cost is the same. Not really sure which way to go. And I am thinking of using Merenti for the top side stuff. Am I on the right track there or is the weight difference going to hurt me on the FS18?
