Re: FS 19 build

Very pleased with the way the transom edge sharpening turned out. After sanding and fairing and sanding again it looks good. 1040 1041 Decided to start priming the boat. Starting with the transom. Had a little extra mixed up so did one half of the bow as well as that part of the bottom immediately a...

Re: FS 19 build

After a couple rounds of fairing and sanding and touching up and sanding and then sanding some more decided to sharpen the transom edge today. 1018 1019 Getting ready to prime everything and then put on the spray rails and rub rails and then priming again. The garage is covered in dust despite my fr...

Re: MY C17

It has been my observation that spray rails are typically at or above the chine where the bottom and sides meet. Reverse chines are often also used for the same purpose of spray reduction. The skeg is typically on the centerline of the keel if there is only one. Sometimes there will be two skegs, of...

Re: FS19 Comments/Questions

The design calls for spray rails. I'm currently building an FS 19 and have been posting in the Builder's Power Boats section of the forum. In the next two weeks I will be adding. 2" solid PVC extruded spray rails at the chine. Hopefully that will mitigate any issues.

Re: My cx 25

There could of been some amine blush that caused the delamination. It does look like from the pictures that the fiberglass surface was very shiny indicating it had not been sanded. Sorry you had to deal with this. The adhesion appears so poor, that perhaps the cleanup won't be too bad. Otherwise you...

Re: 28 BERTRAM OUTBOARD CONVERSION

Looks really good. And I'm sure will really enhance the lines of your boat. Will you be putting a full second station up top or is it just a fish and bird spotting tower?

Re: FS 19 build

This morning I finished applying Quick Fair to the bottom. Have several days of sanding ahead. I've used up the first three quart Quick Fair kit and about two quarts of the 1 1/2 Gallon Kit I just received to fair the outside of the hull. There should be enough left to finish the console, topsides a...
