Re: A facelift of SandPiper, FS14
OK, I got distracted last night and did not try the wire wheel on the goop! But I did buy a Air Fryer..... Instant Vortex Plus 10 qt. 7-1 . IMG_20200615_220019031.jpg . . I have been using septate PVC for each.
I like using the thin wall, so the 3/4" is bigger inside then the others.

Re: Aft storage compartments humming
It's the two panels.... Thinking the best way, using your idea, I can add a panel in both storage areas. That would also breakup the storage area. Giving me compartments inside and hopefully killing the noise. It will be easy on the outside storage, but the middle will be a bit tricky. Putting a di...

Re: A facelift of SandPiper, FS14
I use contact cement any time gluing something flexible on something else. But never plan on removing it either. 8O Wonder if the blade/scrapper attachment on the SOB tool would help the stuff come off faster? Or maybe a worn out wood cutting blade? Tried the SOB... Tonight I'm going to try a wire ...

Re: Aft storage compartments humming
First is identify the part of the boat that the noise is coming from, if it's the dividing panels I'd think about attaching battens about halfway up, screw or epoxy attached. Rather than masking the vibration you want to interrupt it if you can. It's the two panels.... Thinking the best way, using ...

Re: Aft storage compartments humming
Maybe those two for/aft bulkheads walling in the battery are vibrating? I'd wedge something between 'em, like a clamp reversed to push or even a couple of sticks forced in. Or someone to hold their hand in places when underway. Seems like that'd isolate the sound and then maybe your rubber type pai...

Re: A facelift of SandPiper, FS14
Got all the vinyl up, just a gooey mess under most of the aft deck and foredeck. The sole/cockpit deck is not so bad, not going to use chemical cleaners here, just sanding. I thought Nautolex adhesive no. 88, dried to a hard product. The stuff I used was water based and was used on a very humid day,...

Aft storage compartments humming
Aft storage compartments humming when OB is running. The hull and inside bulkheads are vibrating making a humming sound. The prop and prop shaft are fine, checked already. I have a lot of empty storage space in the aft compartments. . Just wandering if I should/could spray or paint the inside walls ...
