Re: SmokyMountain's PH18 Build in E. TN****SPLASHED****
Mr. Monk, say, is that Kiwi grip their white or grey ? How is the fishing going? The Kiwi Grip is a light grey. I got white and went to Lowes and found a grey I liked and had them add the color. I wouldn't recommend white, it will be really bright in the sunlight. Fishing here in the E. TN mountain...

Re: PH 18 gas tank questions
I have thought about using an angled neck deck fill mounted so it points toward the tank. I used a flush mount angled fill and had speedy tank angle the tank fill too. 8) https://encrypted-tbn3.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcQjNBDaa2Aviia_ItiBchqgEB-3TQCXr_KP_q1Bgt-GeU23xFtK http://gallery.bateau2....

Re: PH 18 gas tank questions
I'm with Larry, I have a 25 gallon tank in my PH18 w/ my Suzki 90 and wouldn't want to go below 20 gal at most.

Re: What size trim tabs for PH18?
Andy, my transom in 1 1/2" thick throughout its height. Just curious, do you recall the length your trim tab mounting screws? I believe the screws were 2 or 2-1/4" I used min kota trim tabs. ( they are no longer manufactured...) Also, drilled and refilled though the transom, but not throu...

Re: What size trim tabs for PH18?
Having used my Phantom for couple of years they are not absolutely necessary, but they are nice. In shallow water with tabs you can get on plane in a foot of water or less very quickly without polishing the skeg and they make a difference in the chop. Also, you can stay on plane a much lower speed w...

Re: What size trim tabs for PH18?
I believe mine are in the 9x9 range and they work great. The transom gets crowded with all the appurtenances and thru holes. Make sure you put a backing plate laminated to the inside of the transom so you have plenty of bite for the fasteners.

Re: New Braunfels - PH18 Jet
Andy, now that you have had yours done for awhile now, what kind of draft are you seeing with yours? I would say with one / two person around 6 inches. (I will measure next time I'm out, which will be a little while because it's cold..) I can get on plane with the trim tabs down and the jack plate ...

Re: New Braunfels - PH18 Jet
I had the same problem and used straps. The top of the sheer will still be a little "wavy" between the bulkheads but will straighten up when you install the sheer clamp. I had the same worries. Also, make sure you don't have any hard point between the bulkheads and the hull. I believe I us...
