Re: Diesel Engine Owners
It is ridiculous that diesel cost 30 cents a gallon more than gasoline since a lot less refining is required to make diesel. Also try to find low sulphur 15 ppm fuel everywhere is not real easy. Regards Tom in Steinhatchee :) Tom, this information is not accurate any longer now that the EPA is requ...

Re: recessed/flush mount trim tabs?
And that is why I have the set to offer up to Larry (if they'll work on his FS-18) or the next builder. The hull of my Scout is completely foam filled and there is a false floor in the bilge. I don't even have a very big hatch to work on things down there. I wish I would have researched them a lot m...

Re: T's GF12
If you want to go with a hydraulic unit, this is one of the newest for this type of application: http://www.boatownersworld.com/thmarine/th_marine_atlas_micro_jacker.htm It is half the weight of the Panther I have on my GF-16T, but mine is rated for 300 hp. I got a good deal on it so I couldn't pass...

Re: Diesel Engine Owners
I've rebuilt the fuel bowl assembly on my 7.3 before and as you expect it really isn't that difficult. Of course I also put in one of the fuel pressure "fix kits" that reroutes the fuel so all the injectors should see the same pressure. As the engine is designed, the #8 cylinder will get a...

Re: A Cracker built FS18
Happy Thanksgiving Larry, and the same to all the other readers of this thread. I'll dig out the box of tabs from the back of the closet tomorrow and we'll work something out on them. Drop me a line at toubre "at" gt "dot" rr "dot" com. As for my next build, it will be ...

Re: A Cracker built FS18
Larry, As others have said, prayers go out for your uncle. We did hospice care for my dad at the end too. And, also glad to see another build from your yard coming together. I'm thinking about starting another soon too. I put this in a thread up top about recessed tabs, but thought you might not see...

Re: recessed/flush mount trim tabs?
Larry, Ever heard of the Volvo QL trim tabs? They are pretty much completely flush by design. I bought a pair to put on the back of my Scout flats boat a couple of years ago, but can't use them due to the boat design and how the tabs have to be installed. I'll give you first shot at them if you are ...

PD,
I've been busy killing deer, so sorry I have been offline again.
I put my caliper on the threaded portion of the fitting and think it will work just fine for you. Shoot me an address and we'll work something out. toubre "at" gt "dot" rr "dot" com

Re: T's GF12
Looks pretty good from where I'm sitting. How long is it from fore to aft? And how tall is the outlet at the transom? What thickness ply is the top piece made of and do you plan on venting it? I picked up some 1.5 inch SS 90 degree thru hull fittings for a project I was working on that didn't have e...

Re: XF20 Tunnel Vacuum
As most of the others have already said, you really should vent the tunnel. I've explained it quite a few times on here so you can find that via search or in my build thread. I still think that the tunnel design supplied with the XF20 is an odd one and way overkill if you plan on using an outboard w...
