Re: LB26

OK. Dors that mean that you don't need more dimensions? I was just going to draw the dimensions in a different way but if it works, let's not complicate.

Re: LB26

Thank you for the pictures Fallguy. That is the kind of template I have in mind. Very often, as the building progress, small differences creep in. A few millimeters here and there quickly add up and while you should use the plans dimensions, you must compensate for those differences and adjust some ...

Re: LB26

You can calculate and it will be correct but that was not my intention. Once you get to the cabin and pilothouse, it is very important to work from dimensions taken from the assembled parts. The dimensions I give for the windshield are to be used as reference points and to estimate materials. For th...

Re: Sport Boat 18

Excellent reply from Jaysen. You can reduce the weather helm in different ways but in that kind of wind, weather helm is normal and is safer. In 15 to 20 mph wind (17 knots), you should have a reef in the main. You can also rake the mast forward but thne you will be disappointed in lighter winds. Al...

Re: VG23 Questions : Jacques

I am not sure what you will gain by extending the cabin -v- sail plan issues and loss of cockpit area . If you want a little more room then bite the bullet and scale up all ways say 5% or length only 10% and keep the designed sail plane while providing more space in both the cabin and cockpit . 10%...

I have no idea what sleepers are. This is a very weird email. Many CS23 were built from those plans, see the pictures.

Re: My cx 25

do you think my boat is too heavy? I have to do the certification for floating and heel for 8 people and too much 8 persons is a lot on a 25' boat. There is barely enough room to stand in the cockpit for 8. Is that 8 a figure you choose or some rule? The CX25 is not different from most production b...

Re: My cx 25

Capacity can be calculated according through a formula like the ABYC, US Coast Guard or EEC certification or using displacement figures, common sense and reports from builders. The DWL (Designed Water Line) is at 5000 lbs (2,200 liters). That puts the cockpit sole about 3" above the DWL. That w...

Re: VG23 Questions : Jacques

If I understand well, you want to build some kind of cabin roof extension over the cockpit benches. You will loose some sitting room in the cockpit and not gain much inside but it is feasible. I don't see any structural problems as long as you leave a ring frame where the cockpit frame is. We need a...
